Housing

• a large chinchilla, ferret or parrot type cage can be used
• the base of the cage should be at least 1by 1m, and 3m high
• they tend to be solitary animals and should be housed individually
• Bedding: aspen or corn cob
• Accessories: nest box, branches, hideaways, ferret wheel, wood chews

Food

• mixture of a quality commercial large parrot seed mix which includes nuts and dried fruit, rodent blocks and kitten kibble
• fresh fruits or veggies once to twice weekly

Breeding

• Maturity: 9 months to 1 year old
• Gestation: 42 days
• Litter size: 1-4
• eyes open at about 20 days old
• should be fully weaned by 7-8 weeks old
