Housing
- a large chinchilla, ferret or parrot type cage can be used
- the base of the cage should be at least 1by 1m, and 3m high
- they tend to be solitary animals and should be housed individually
- Bedding: aspen or corn cob
- Accessories: nest box, branches, hideaways, ferret wheel, wood chews
Food
- mixture of a quality commercial large parrot seed mix which includes nuts and dried fruit, rodent blocks and kitten kibble
- fresh fruits or veggies once to twice weekly
Breeding
- Maturity: 9 months to 1 year old
- Gestation: 42 days
- Litter size: 1-4
- eyes open at about 20 days old
- should be fully weaned by 7-8 weeks old
